He started his legal career with a medical device regulatory firm in Washington, D.C. before moving to Chicago to focus exclusively on intellectual property law. He founded a boutique IP firm in Toledo that later merged with MST. Matt is a member of the American Intellectual Property Association and actively participates in its Patent Law Committee. I rarely wear a suit and tie and am most comfortable in jeans and flip flops. I’ve worked in high rise buildings in Chicago and Washington, D.C., but prefer my 5th floor office that overlooks the Maumee River in my hometown, Toledo, OH. I love baseball (Go Guardians!) and hockey (Let’s Go Red Wings!). I generally prefer the book, but occasionally favor the movie (The Hustler comes to mind). St. Pete Beach, Florida is one of my favorite places in the world. I’m a Mac. Photography is a hobby and a creative outlet. I have two sons; one is a mathematician and the other is a pilot. I’m neither of those things. My wife is my closest friend. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to ice cream.
