MST recently welcomed Suzanne Ketler to the firm as Of Counsel.

Ms. Ketler is an attorney with 24 years of substantial experience in the clearance, prosecution, and protection of trademarks, both domestically and internationally. She expertly handles trademark and related matters from start to finish for small business and start-up clients, as well as provides comprehensive management of complex global trademark portfolios for larger clients, in numerous industries, including food and beverage, cosmetics, personal care, health care, energy, pharmaceutical, media, non-profit, retail, pool and spa, IT, educational, and manufacturing, among others. She advises clients on strategies to select, clear, develop, protect, and enforce their trademarks, brands, and other intellectual property. She responds to and overcomes difficult and complex office actions and obtains registration of clients’ desired trademarks regularly.

Sue also has significant experience in handling and resolving trademark disputes, copyright disputes, and internet and e-commerce related disputes. She has successfully conducted and favorably settled numerous trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and has prevailed in many Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) domain name proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In addition, she has handled trademark infringement and related litigation in federal court. She also negotiates and drafts complex IP related agreements, including service, software, SaaS, IP licensing, influencer, and sponsorship agreements, among others, for clients in a variety of fields.

Sue earned her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, her Ph.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh, and her B.A. from Northwestern University.

Sue joins MST after working in large, full-service law firms for 23 years.
