Joe’s practice involves patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, as well as IP litigation. Joe represents universities and private companies in patent matters. With a background in chemistry, Joe’s patent prosecution practice is focused in the chemical arts, with significant experience in small molecules, chemical processes, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and photovoltaics. Prior to joining the firm, Joe clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge James R. Knepp, II of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Joe maintains an interest in litigation, and his practice includes patent, trademark, and copyright litigation and litigation support, including in federal district courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
