Kristine H. Johnson Joins MacMillan, Sobanski & Todd

MST is pleased to announce that Kristine H. Johnson has joined our firm as an attorney at our Toledo, Ohio office.

Kristi is active in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.  She provides patentability opinions, and prepares and prosecutes patent applications, including related advising, in the food, bio-energy, plant biochemistry, sanitation materials and methods, molecular biology and pharmaceutical industries.  She has over a decade of experience working with university technology transfer offices.

Kristi started her practice as a biotech patent attorney at Eli Lilly & Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was involved in intellectual property matters relating to Prozac and other neuroscience pharmaceuticals.  She then formed a successful private IP law practice in Fort Collins, Colorado, eventually serving many university, corporate, and individual clients.  Kristi was of counsel with an established intellectual property law firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan before joining MST.

Along with her husband, Tom, Kristi founded and managed the Bingham Hill Cheese Company in Fort Collins, a nationally distributed food business.  She managed all legal matters for the company, including intellectual property protection, liability reduction policies, employee issues, supplier contracts, leases, banking and loan issues.  The company won 45 product awards, most notably Best Blue cheese (twice) and Best American Cheese at the World Cheese Awards in London.

Kristi and Tom have a son Nathan, a sophomore in high school, and a daughter Sarah, an eighth grader.  Her interests include softball, baseball, swimming, reading, family, friends, big dogs, stray cats, and food.
