MST is pleased to welcome Carrie Johnson as a partner in the firm at its Toledo office. Carrie counsels clients regarding trademark clearance, international and domestic trademark prosecution, copyright registration, and domain name disputes. She also practices in the areas of trade secrets and unfair competition.
Carrie has also represented clients from a variety of industries in trademark and copyright litigation before the TTAB and in the federal courts. For example, in Kiss My Face v. PYR Less Group (2015) she was lead counsel for Opposer personal care products company in a trademark opposition proceeding. The opposition was sustained in favor of Opposer after trial. In Dark Horse Brewing v. Dark Horse Distillery (2013) she was lead counsel for plaintiff brewing company in a trademark infringement action, and obtained a verdict of willful trademark infringement and personal liability for the infringement.
Prior to joining MacMillan, Sobanski & Todd, Carrie was a partner at an intellectual property law firm in Perrysburg, Ohio. She spent six years as an associate with a large Atlanta general practice law firm working in the firm's intellectual property group.
Carrie received her B.A. from Miami University and her J.D. from the University of Toledo. She is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Georgia, and admitted to practice before District Courts in Ohio, Michigan and Georgia.
Carrie is active in the community. She is a Board Member of Carly Cares Corp., a 501(c)(3) benefitting children with rare genetic diseases, including Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria. Carrie and her husband and two daughters are active members of Christ Presbyterian Church in Toledo.
